About Typeweave

What We're Building

Typeweave is a modern font distribution platform designed for professional designers, developers, and creative teams. We're building infrastructure that connects independent type foundries with the professionals who need premium typography.

We deliver fonts through modern channels—NPM packages for self-hosting and a global CDN for quick integration—using variable font technology for optimal performance. Currently in early access, we're starting with curated open-source fonts while establishing partnerships with professional type foundries.

Our Vision

  • Support Independent Foundries: Create a sustainable platform where type designers earn fair revenue from their work
  • Modern Infrastructure: Deliver fonts through NPM packages and CDN with variable font optimization
  • Flexible Licensing: Offer both free open-source fonts and commercial licenses for premium typefaces
  • Professional Quality: Curated collection, not a font dump—every typeface professionally optimized

Current Status: Early Access

We've just launched with professionally optimized open-source fonts to validate our infrastructure and delivery model. These fonts are free to use and demonstrate the quality and performance you can expect from Typeweave.

Behind the scenes, we're actively building partnerships with independent type foundries to bring premium commercial fonts to the platform. When we launch commercial fonts, they'll use the same modern delivery infrastructure—NPM packages and CDN—with flexible licensing options.

Technology

Typeweave is built with Next.js and distributed through NPM and our edge CDN. Every font is converted to modern WOFF2 variable format, providing all font weights (typically 100-900) in a single optimized file.

Our current open-source fonts are licensed under permissive licenses like OFL-1.1 and Apache 2.0. Commercial fonts will offer flexible licensing options including single-project, team, and enterprise licenses.

The platform is designed for modern development workflows with first-class support for Next.js, React, Vite, and Tailwind CSS.
